Ten Things in May

. Wednesday, 29 May 2019 .

1. How pretty is this mess?! Like, I'm ridiculously obsessed with this. Sure, the wine glass was from Saturday night (this was taken on Monday) and yeah, that makeup tray shouldn't even be there... but I love a good, creative mess so here we go. I was tidying up the other night but of course had to take a photo first so here we are.

2. I wrote a piece on positive affirmations as one of my pieces for May over on my girl Kimberley Crossman's website. Check it out here.

3. Went to a the premiere of Godzilla the other night thanks to lovely folk at Roadshow and Undertow Media. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did (it's not usually the type of film I'd go see, but I'm putting myself out there and watching all sorts of films, exposing myself to new things. One day I'll go see a horror film. Baby steps) but it really was quite epic. One thing I felt throughout the film though was an overall feeling of panic. Panic over the climate emergency and global warming. I was terrified that we were heading towards that path (minus the titans and monsters, of course, but you never know) at the rate our world is going. I sat there thinking I wasn't doing enough to save the earth - or to at least not actively contribute to its demise - and that's not okay. So weird to have that realisation and wake-up call in the middle of the film. But as I was watching it, some of the scenes felt like something we'd witness in this lifetime and we need to do better. Okay, so that wasn't really a movie review but I'll gather my thoughts and eventually talk about the film in a separate review.

4. LONG WEEKEND PLSSSS HURRY UP!

5. My nana is visiting from California soon so she asked me to send through a wishlist. I'm trying to save so I was really selective with the things I want to get. But hello Sephora and Glossier. Also leave it to nanas to have discount codes/vouchers, eh? I sent her the Sephora list and she was like "I've got gift cards from there, you can have it". How good are nanas?

6. I'm currently drinking the evening detox tea from Storm & India and WOW it's possibly one of the best teas I've ever had. Long story short but I recently cleaned my room and uncovered some things I have forgotten like a goodie bag with a morning detox and evening detox sample from them. I was working from home today so had time to slow down this morning and start it with some tea and writing. It was so lovely! The evening tea is next level though and there's a certain sweetness to it that I absolutely adore. Coincidentally, it is also payday....

7. A few weeks ago, Postie let me loose on their store and kindly let me pick out a few pieces from their current collection. I've posted two outfits so far: this and this. What I love about these looks is that the pieces are classics and can be worn over and over AND mixed and matched with what's already in my wardrobe. Also I love that both those looks feels like 'me' and they are outfits I felt great and comfortable in. I don't have a lot of fashion rules (this coming from the gal who wore Mickey Mouse boxers at a club once) but I do have to be comfy in them. That's it.

8. THIS THIS THIS!!!!!! Asian leads? A foodie storyline? Keanu Reeves? Mariah Carey's 'Always Be My Baby' playing in the background? This is literally a dream come true. I'm so excited!!!!

9. Speaking of Netflix films, last Saturday night my parents + one of my brothers and I watched Good Sam on Netflix while eating a big bowl of sour cream fries after dinner. It was so chilled and so great and afterwards I sat on my own couch with a glass of wine and staring at my newly cleaned flat. It was the most blissful moment I've had in a long time.

10. I still haven't gotten around to scanning the Instax photos from my Brisbane trip a few weeks ago. Oops. I went back to The Calile, one of my all-time favourite hotels that I've worked with so far. It was a whirlwind but awesome trip. I can't to actually share how the photos turned out!
